Cats Protection’s award-winning Frome & District branch is on the prowl for a volunteer events coordinator and volunteer fundraisers, so the charity can raise more money for the kitty.
The charity relies on donations so the roles are essential in ensuring that their vital feline welfare work in the area can continue.
Justin Parsons, Cats Protection’s regional branch operations manager said, “Organising fundraising events is varied and interesting as events can range from traditional raffles, fetes and fairs to sponsored head shaves or abseiling! The charity is always open to new and creative ideas.
“The volunteer-run branch does a huge amount of work to help cats, so sparing just a couple of hours a week can make a huge difference to needy cats and kittens. We are sure that whoever takes on the roles will find it incredibly rewarding. It’s also a great way to make new friends.”
No previous experience is necessary and the charity will provide plenty of assistance and support.
In August, the branch was honoured at the National Cat Awards, winning the Star Team Award for their innovative collaboration with Bath College. The scheme helped to increase the number of cats they can help by positioning a four-pen Cats Protection unit at the college, with students from animal care courses providing day-to-day care. As well as finding new homes for unwanted and abandoned cats, Cats Protection also offers cat care advice to the public and can help towards the cost of neutering.
