THE members of the Frome PACE (Personal Achievement & Creative Experience) Group were delighted to welcome guests recently to a very successful coffee morning.
This event was in celebration of the re-launch of the group, having recently become independent, following the withdrawal of direct funding from Somerset County Council. Supporters from Wish, Mendip Community Support, Carers Support, councillors, Aster Community and friends, family and volunteers joined them to mark the occasion.
The group meets every Thursday at Gorehedge, Frome from 10.00am – 3.15pm, offering daytime opportunities with friendly support for people with disabilities in need of social and creative stimulation, with the aim of promoting personal achievements and experiences, thereby enhancing general well being. Qualified carers are always available, thereby giving an ideal respite opportunity for carers.
PACE Group have been successful in obtaining funding from local county councillors, Alvin Horsefall and Maggie Daniels, Somerset Community Foundation and Active Living to support them to move forward independently. The group wish to thank them for all their help and support which has enabled them to have an ongoing programme of activities and outings planned for the future.
For more information on how to join the group, contact Carol Harper, (07716 850526 Thursday only), or email: pacefrome@hot mail.co.uk
