Frome Film and Video Makers celebrated the end of their 2016/17 season with a Hollywood style awards ceremony recently.
Films from 2015 and 2016 were pre-judged and winners were announced at the last meeting of this year.
Film of the Year 2015 was ‘Longleat Festival of Light’ by Alan Campbell, and Film of the Year 2016 was ‘Wiltshire and Swindon School Games’ by Ernie McKenna.
Ernie, the chairman of the club said, “We have 20 members at the moment and all follow their hobby with enthusiasm and not only make films of their own interests but, as a club, get together to produce local interest films.
“We are always on the lookout for local events to cover for posterity so if you have an event you wish to cover just let us know.
“The new season starts in March with a packed programme including training evenings on how to get the best from your camera, and guest speakers on animation, sound, editing and filming techniques.
“If you are looking to get the best from your camera, phone, iPad or whatever you are using to record your memories you should consider joining us on one of our evenings; you will be most welcome.”
On 1st April the club is holding its annual “Five Minute Festival.
