It is almost two years since the enthusiastic members of the Frome Good Afternoon Choir started their musical journey on Monday afternoons in Holy Trinity Church.
There are 10 Good Afternoon choirs across the region – a project led by Bath music-man Grenville Jones. The conductor of Frome Good Afternoon Choir is Matt Finch who has built the choir up to over 60 singers who meet from 2-4pm every afternoon.
This is a no audition choir with the accent on fun and making music as well as making new friends! On Monday September 2nd there will be an open afternoon to give prospective new members the opportunity to go along and find out more about the choir, its music and to meet Matt.
Many of the singers have not previously sung in choirs and there is a warm welcome to everyone to go along and discover the Frome Good Afternoon Choir.
The choir perform at concerts and recently joined members from the other Good Afternoon choirs at a wonderful day of singing at Clifton Cathedral. This year Frome Good Afternoon Choir are raising money for the WHY charity and their next concert will be at Holy Trinity Church with the Village Voices Choir and members of BLOGS on Saturday October 26th – tickets are available from Frome GAC members or from 01761 472468 priced £10 / £5 for under 12s.
