Local author and historian, Alan Stone, will be giving another of his entertaining talks at the Trinity Hall on Monday 25th November.
This time he will cover the history of cheese making in Somerset, and how expertise developed with the help of courses such as those at Cannington College, as well as from the knowledge passed down through the generations.
He will also touch on the importance of the local agricultural shows, such as the Frome Cheese Show, Shepton’s Mid-Somerset Show and of course the Bath & West which have promoted the excellent standards in cheese making.
The small local food heritage group, Food Frome, is hosting this evening and will be providing nibbles to accompany the samples that Alan Stone will be bringing to show the skills of the local Cheddar Cheese makers. The talk begins at 8.00pm and the doors of Trinity Hall will open at 7.30pm; tickets £2.50.
