SOMERSET County Council’s Trading Standards team has carried out testing in school meals in response to the horsemeat issue.
All 28 of the samples analysed, which were taken from a broad range of suppliers across the county, have been found to be clear of horsemeat.
Officers will be contacting the kitchens where the samples were taken individually to let them know of the results.
A county council spokesman said, “We are pleased that the results have come back showing no signs of horsemeat. “We will remain vigilant and continue the process of testing food.”
