A FORMER supply teacher from Frome has raised £550 for charity with her open gardens event.
Lynda Lucas – who having worked in many of Frome’s schools is a familiar face to many ex students, staff and parents – opened her garden to the public as part of the Frome Festival’s open gardens event.
Money raised from Lynda’s event will go to The Samaritans, the national charity that provides emotional support to anyone in emotional distress, struggling to cope, or at risk of suicide.
She also held a raffle and her many friends helped to serve tea/coffee and cakes donated by friends and neighbours.
“Lynda often generously gives up her time fundraising for all the causes she supports,” said Lynda’s friend Christine Perrett. “I was hoping you could give her a mention in your great local paper as she works so hard to support many local good causes.”
