Frome Renewable Energy Co-op has raised over £300,000 in investment in their community share offer’s first week.
The investment, which will fund solar panels on Frome Medical Practice and Frome Town Football Club’s new community stand, was over-subscribed by week two.
Anna Francis, director of FRECo said, “We have been blown away by the response – it shows there is a real appetite for this kind of project. This means we can plan a range of new installations confident in the fact that there will be strong support for them. With good financial returns, carbon and cost savings, plus income for a new community fund, it’s a win win win.”
FRECo are holding a free community shares workshop at Frome Medical Practice on Wednesday 3rd June at 6.00pm for local residents to find out more about these kinds of offers and to get prepared for the next round of community share opportunities. To reserve your free place visit www.freco.org or call 01373 475574.
