TO celebrate the start of this special year for Oakfield Academy, each of the tutor groups at the school organised a stall for a fete that recognised the four decades that have passed.
Mr Ron Crossman (headteacher 1973-1996) congratulated Mr Philip Hill (headteacher 1996- present day) who is retiring this December, as Oakfield marks 40 years as a Middle School!
Mr Crossman spent the afternoon with the children and said that the event had reminded him of the fetes that were organised at the school by the late Clive Lewis, many years ago.
