Frome Medical Practice is holding another free session for patients who are interested in looking ahead and planning for future care and end-of-life needs, following a well-received event in the summer.
The session will be hosted by a senior partner at the practice, Dr Helen Kingston, and Julia di Castiglione, who are both experienced in primary care and end-of-life care.
The session takes place at the practice on Thursday 3rd October from 2pm to 3.30pm and will be an introduction to the topic, raising awareness of how we can plan for our future care, as well as looking at practical issues such as creating a will or a lasting power of attorney.
Dr Kingston said, “We know that patients can find this topic difficult to think about, let alone move forward with, so our aim is to help them with this. In as much as we plan for holidays, birthdays and new jobs, we want to encourage and support patients to plan for their future care and end-of-life preferences. Doing this can help remove uncertainty and ensures our preferences are known, providing peace of mind for all involved.”
“Please join us for this session if you can. We will share our experience with you and help you navigate these sensitive topics with confidence. The practical information we share will empower you to take proactive steps to plan ahead.”
The workshop is aimed at any Frome Medical Practice patients who are interested in exploring this important subject and starting to plan ahead, whether for themselves or on behalf of a loved one.
The session is free to attend but patients are asked to register their interest by calling 01373 468368, emailing frome.healthconnections@nhs.net or via the events page on the practice website https://www.fromemedicalpractice.co.uk/events
