LOCAL Freemasons have donated £2,100 to Mendip YMCA in aid of renovations at Frome’s youth centre.
In December 2016 the Royal Somerset Lodge, a masonic lodge in Frome, presented the cheque to Karen Deverell, chief executive of Mendip YMCA.
Master of the lodge, Chris Stilton, chose to donate the money raised during his year at the helm to the youth association.
The money will be put towards the major repair works required on the roof, and the installation of a new boiler.
Mendip YMCA is also raising money to try and save its Routes drop-in centre on Palmer Street. To donate to either cause go to www.mendipymca.org.uk or call 01749 679553.
