1031 Frome Air Training Squadron attended the Battle of Britain Service of Remembrance on Sunday 21st September at Christ Church in Frome.
The service pays tribute to the sacrifices made by Bomber Command on the decisive day of the Battle of Britain on 15th September 1940.
During the services cadets from the Squadron made a collection from the congregation. The proceeds will be used to support the ongoing work of the Royal Air Forces Association in Frome. The organisation provides welfare services to serving and past members of the Air Forces. The collection raised just over £80.
The service was also an opportunity for six cadets to be enrolled into the Squadron. Two cadets were also promoted in recognition of their commitment to, and involvement in the squadron’s activities. These range from flying and gliding to adventure training and expeditions, as well as BTEC and First Aid training.
