FROME contemporary artist, Meg Mosley, hosted a live art performance and immersive community event in Trowbridge this month after winning a grant from Arts Council England.
The local artist was awarded £1,500 by the council towards the final event of her long-term immersive community work ‘Viva Trow Vegas’.
Working with Trowbridge Town Council and The Trowbridge Museum to organise the event, Meg performed as her celebrity persona ‘Megastar’, taking an audience on a humourous tour of the town.
Meg said, “There’s something extraordinary about ordinary towns and when a town council supports and elevates the imagination of its artists, I believe a real sense of creativity and community occurs.
“50 guests of every age from children to OAPs experienced the story of Trow Vegas through interactive experiences, sights and secret tours of buildings opened up just for them! As Trevor the town crier stood at the top of the town hall staircase, rang his bell and announced “with imagination and kindness we can achieve anything” I knew I had completed something very special.”
