AFFINITY Wellbeing took CrossFit UVA to the Superhuman Games, the UK’s largest functional fitness competition, which formed part of Bristol’s Festival of Sport & Fitness on 3rd June.
The competition involves same sex pairs taking part in a serious of workouts, with 348 teams from across the UK taking part in 2017.
Twenty-six teams from Affinity Wellbeing, an award-winning gym based in Frome, competed at the games – making it the biggest contingent from any gym to be represented there. The day consisted of five grueling workouts and four of CrossFit UVA’s teams were featured in the top three positions of the leaderboard in the Male Open, Male Masters and Female Open categories for the first four events. They narrowly missed out on podium places following the final event, but these results show incredible progress for the teams since the 2016 Games.
Paul Roffey of Affinity Wellbeing said, “All 52 athletes who took part from CrossFit UVA have really done themselves, the gym and their home town proud. We are already looking forward to the 2018 Games now”
