LOCAL author, Sarah Scholefield is introducing her debut novel, Redferne Lane, with a number of talks to share her journey to publication.
Redferne Lane tells the story of Grace, a young widow, after the death of her husband Ezra. Sarah began writing her debut novel during her master’s degree in creative writing at Bath Spa University in 2013. Following publication of her work in a student anthology, she was approached by an agent offering representation.
Sarah told Frome Times, “After a somewhat rocky road I was lucky enough to get my novel published by London-based Thistle Publishing. It was a steep learning curve and long process – I faced a lot of rejections and almost gave up hope of ever getting Redferne Lane published.
“But I am thrilled to finally see my first book in print – it still feels surreal to see my name on the front cover. I am already writing another book, although I can’t reveal much about it at present.”
