THE Frome Community Bike Project (FCBP) workshop has opened at the back of Station Approach.
The service enables people to work on their own bikes using the workshop tools or they can book in with a mechanic to fix problems.
“A team of fabulous volunteers generously gave their time over the last few months to build and kit out the workshop,” says a member of the team, Emma. “A huge thank you to everyone who has supported us from our Crowdfunder last year to building the workshop to telling people about us; we really couldn’t have done it without you.
“To find us, follow the road behind Dimensions Tiles and City Plumbing towards Frome Reclamation and you’ll see our containers and workshop ahead of you. Over the winter our opening hours are 10am to 4pm Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. We may be open outside of these times so please get in touch if you can’t make it during our core hours.
“The workshop is a shared space where people can work on their own bike using the workshop tools or book in with a mechanic to fix it for you. In addition, we sell refurbished bikes, offer loan e-bikes, teach bike maintenance classes and cycle confidence sessions and lead social group rides.”
