The participants of the Frome Area COPD Support Group would like to let people know about their friendly, peer-led, supportive group.
If you are affected by COPD, you would be very welcome to join them to share experiences, make friends and find out helpful information over a cup of tea or coffee. Friends, family and carers are also welcome.
Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is the name for a group of lung conditions that cause breathing difficulties. It includes: emphysema – damage to the air sacs in the lungs and chronic bronchitis – long-term inflammation of the airways. COPD is a common condition that mainly affects middle-aged or older adults and many people don’t realise they have it. The breathing problems tend to get gradually worse over time and can limit your normal activities, although treatment can help keep the condition under control.
The group runs on the first Wednesday of every month from 10.30am until 12pm at Frome Medical Practice, in the boardroom.
The next meeting will be on Wednesday 1st August at 10.30am. No need to book a place, just turn up. It is free to attend.
