Magic fell upon the Steiner Academy Frome recently when the community joined together to celebrate at the annual Advent Fair.
The Advent Fair team report, “The school was transformed with rich velvet drapes, golden bunting, garlands of greenery and sparkling fairy lights.
“The fair offered a wealth of opportunities for children and adults alike to try their hand at making Christmas wreaths, bath salts and hand-dipped candles, to decorate gingerbread and even dig for treasure.
“There was a wide and wonderful diversity of stalls from local artisans (including parents) selling original hand-made gifts, whilst the children-only stall sold hand-made toys and craft at pocket-money prices, with no adults allowed!
“Other experiences included a magical reconstruction and re-telling of the classic tale of The Elves and the Shoemaker, the Pocket Wizard Lucky Dip and storytelling.
“The pop-up café served delicious freshly-made hot food, gourmet coffee and homemade cakes. Festive live music entertained the crowds including the school Christmas choir and parent musicians. There was even a surprise appearance from King Winter. It was a day to remember at the Steiner Academy Frome.
“The top prizes in this year’s raffle included a long weekend for two in North Devon; tickets to Shindig festival, the Green Gathering festival and many other fabulous prizes.
“The Advent Fair team would like to say a big thank you to everyone from the school community, local artisans, musicians, local businesses that donated wonderful raffle prizes and to all the Frome community that supported us. The sun shone brightly and it was a wonderful success.”
