Pupils at a Frome school explored messages of equality and inclusion by taking part in Wear Red Day recently.
Pupils at St John’s First School discussed this year’s theme, ‘show racism the red card’, which promotes tackling racism in sport, society and workplaces.
A member of school staff, Jo Alexander, said, “The children have enjoyed discussing the theme and have shown a wonderful understanding of the importance of kindness, respect and inclusion. They recognise that everyone deserves to be treated fairly and with kindness, regardless of their differences and that it’s our differences that make every single one of us amazing.”
The annual initiative marked its 12th anniversary this year and encourages schools and organisations to wear red to show their support for eradicating racism.
