A moment of silence will take place at Frome War Memorial to mark 15 years since British personnel left Iraq.
The commemoration will be held at 10.55am on Friday 22nd May.
“All veterans, friends and family would be welcome to attend this event which will be marked by silence,” said Jane Norris from the Frome and District Royal British Legion (RBL).
“The bugle will say all that needs to be said, namely the Last Post and Reveille.”
A total of 179 British personnel lost their lives during Operation TELIC, the UK’s military involvement in Iraq, which ended on 22nd May 2011. Several veterans now live in Frome and plan to gather in silence to honour their fallen comrades
