A new director has been appointed at Frome Festival following the departure of its previous director after four years in the role.
Lucy Evans has taken over from Adam Laughton and brings experience across the arts, live events and cultural sectors in the UK and internationally.
Her previous work has included international tours, Glastonbury Festival with Arcadia Spectacular and festival and venue projects in Bristol. She has also worked on international music projects with charity In Place of War.
Lucy said, “Frome is renowned for its vibrant spirit, rich cultural history and passionate creative community. Having first moved here in 2008, I’m excited to be collaborating with local artists, organisers, venues and partners to co-create the festival’s next chapter.”
Adam Laughton is supporting Lucy during the handover.

He said, “I’m delighted that Lucy Evans will be succeeding me in this role. She brings with her a wealth of experience and, crucially, fresh ideas to build on past successes whilst refreshing the programme going into the future.”
He added that the festival had been “financially precarious” during his time in the role, with funding routes cut and costs rising.
“Frome Festival can only continue to exist if everyone decides it is valuable and continues to support both the festival and the venues and creatives who make it happen. Every time you attend an event or support a fundraiser, you are helping to keep community arts alive in Frome,” he added.
Adam will continue as artistic programme manager at Wiltshire Music Centre in Bradford on Avon and trustee of Rook Lane Arts Trust.
Frome Festival is asking people to provide feedback on this year’s event through the form at www.fromefestival.co.uk.
