Frome FM broadcaster writes fun-packed novel

LOCAL radio Frome FM broadcaster Tim Addams has written a novel which is loosely based on the time he spent working in London in 1970 when he was 18. 

He’s called it ‘London, Luck and Love’ after a song by Daryl Hall and John Oates. The book is in the comedy category and takes the reader through six weeks of fun-packed incident.

Tim said, “My hope is that anyone who reads the book will have a smile on their face, it’s not a heavy read and should appeal to most people as they will probably readily identify with a lot of the things that happen as it’s the stuff that most young people go through.”

In the book ‘our’ hero (or maybe not) comes up to London from his home town of Farnborough in Hampshire. He’s come to work as a trainee manager for an old established food retailer and lives in the firm’s hostel with other trainees. He meets girls, learns to drive and becomes a deejay all with comic results.

Tim said, “There is a great feeling of nostalgia for the 70’s now as the world has changed a lot since then. My book is full of all the things that were around then…TV, films, cars, football and especially music. Anyone who likes music and comedy will want to read this book.”

Aside from writing, Tim is a keen musician and singer and has done a number of gigs locally as both a soloist or group member.
