THIS year’s Frome Half Marathon,10k and 5k races have been cancelled.
Runners expecting to take part in the event on Sunday 17th July, received an email from an events company called Let’s Do This, confirming that the races were cancelled and that The Race Organiser – the company originally behind the event – had gone into administration.
Runners were also told that they would not be able to obtain a refund.
The email from Let’s Do This said, “This administration means that any money given to these organisers, will either now have been spent on costs, or are with the administrators, who will be paying off debtors. In regards to the fee you paid, we’re sad to report that any entry fee you paid for any of these events is not eligible for a refund.
“As mentioned above, the funds given to the organisers have now been spent and as we are now acting as a booking partner for these events, we no longer have access to that money as we had already passed the funds you paid us onto them.”
Companies House records show that The Race Organiser entered the administration process in October 2021.
Runners were instead offered a £35 credit to enter any events organised by Run Through – another company that hosts running races.
