FROME Hidden Gardens will return in 2021.
Co-ordinator Sharon Rossiter explains, “Over 900 people visited the gardens in 2019. This year and with your help we hope to surpass 1,000 visitors. In 2019 we raised a total of £4,500 for the Frome Festival and £4,100 was donated to charities of the gardeners’ choice. I am sure you will agree it was a remarkable achievement.
“This year Hidden Gardens runs on Friday 9th, Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th July 2021. The Gardens are open from 10.30am to 5.00pm and we have held the price at £5 per person.
“We have managed to squeeze 33 gardens onto the programme with 12 gardens opening for the first time. Many of the gardens are accessible to people who have limited mobility and those who use a wheelchair. Toilet facilities, including a disabled toilet, are available at Phoenix House on Dommets Lane, Garden 11 on the programme.
“We offer you a festival of gardens with different and varied gardens opening over the course of the 3 days. Not all gardens are open every day so please consult your programme and plan your route. Some highlights include 2 gardens opening for the National Gardens Scheme, a Frome in Bloom winner, plants, honey sales and afternoon tea provided by a Bake-off finalist.
“The programme, which is also your individual ticket, gives you access on all three days. Access over three days makes it a very difficult event for the Great British weather to spoil. Rarely does it rain continuously for 3 full days even in our summer! While tickets can be bought before the festival you may prefer to buy and print them in advance especially if you live outside the town. You can purchase tickets online via the Frome Festival Website. http://www.fromefestival.co.uk
“A ticket bought sooner rather than later will allow you time to plan your route and identify the gardens you would like to see. Please note that you cannot buy your ticket at individual gardens on the days we open.”
