FORMER Frome Junior hockey player, Vikki McCabe, visited her former coach recently to share the news that she had just been selected to play for England’s U21s and take part in the Euro Hockey Championships.
Local girl Vikki, who lives near Frome, first started playing hockey when she was 8 years old. Inspired and motivated by her first coach, Teresa, she acquired a passion for the sport that further led to her developing the ability to play outstanding hockey and score goals. Vikki spent some time chatting to the young players about her experiences playing for England and her recent invite to train with the senior GB squad at the Stoop. Vikki showed the young players some of the skills she had acquired and still practise, to keep herself at the top of her game and in the running for selection.
