Last weekend saw the showdown for the Clarrie Dunbar Indoor Bowls Club competition finals.
The prestigious Ladies and Men’s Club Singles Championship Finals were won by Marcia Hartley and Graham Shadwell. In the finals Marcia beat Thelma Bailey 21-4 and Graham beat Keith Bailey 21-10. Thelma Bailey and Keith Bailey were the runners up.
Marcia and Graham now qualify to compete in the National Champion of Champions Competition next winter season.
The results were as follows:
Mixed Pairs: Winners – Irene Abel, Christine Buxton, Alan Brown & Francis Parker. Runners up – Dorothy Amor, Charlie Nash, Caroline Nash & Brian Hawkins.
Open Triples: Peter Hooley, Alan Brown & Craig Hatfield-Doughty. Runners up – Robin Miles, Mick Maslen & Colin Easton.
Mixed Pairs: Winners – Kim Smith & Graham Shadwell. Runners up: Irene Abel & Alan Brown.
Men’s Pairs: Winners – Jamie Shadwell & Russell Francis. Runners up – Charlie Robertson & David Pitcher.
Ladies’ Pairs: Winners – Jeanette Wheeler & Debbie Shadwell. Runners up – Nicola Radcliffe & Jo Dunford.
Open Pairs: Winners – Marcia Hartley & Colin Easton. Runners up – Kenzie and Graham Shadwell.
Open Singles: Winner – Duncan McGovern. Runner up – Jamie Shadwell.
Open Novice/Junior Singles: Winner – Jamie Shadwell. Runner up – Fez Parker.
Open Wood Singles: Winner – Duncan McGovern. Runner up – Nick Greening.
