the Inner Wheel of Frome held their annual very successful Farmers Market Harvest Festival Service & Auction at the Conference Centre Standerwick on Thursday 2nd October.
The event was very well supported by the local farmers and their friends, Rotarians and members of the Frome Inner Wheel. The Rev. Andrew Chalkley from St Georges Parish Church Beckington officiated at the service and the lessons were read by president Margaret Holmes, Jonathan Cheal and Rotarian Hilary Daniel, Rotarian Kim Hyde accompanied the hymns on his keyboard.
The charity chosen by president Margaret this year was the British Heart Foundation, and their representative Alice Louw gave a very interesting talk about how to keep fit by taking more exercise, and generally look after our health and keeping well, so that heart attacks and strokes are avoided.
The evening was organised by Deana Barnes and Gwen Barnard joint chairman and their community service committee, and all the members of the club made cakes, preserves, donated fruit and vegetables and gave miscellaneous gifts which were auctioned after the service by Rotarian Dennis Barnard.
Sally Gregory supplied the congregation with a delicious ploughman’s supper, and the Inner Wheel Club of Frome would like to thank Cooper & Tanner for allowing them to hold the festival in their venue and also the people of Frome and district who attended, as without their help and support the club would not have made the substantial sum of £915.00 for the British Heart Foundation charity.
