FOLLOWING the success of last months gig at the Cornerhouse, Frome Jazz Club are advising people to arrive early for the next event on Sunday 11th June, especially as it will feature not only a club favourite, saxophonist Kevin Figes, but a very special and magical programme.
Keith Harrison-Broninski from Frome Jazz Club said, “Since the 1970s Scandinavia has produced some of the most beautiful and exciting jazz on the planet. In this gig we’ll be celebrating some of the most exquisite Nordic tunes and grooves, from the likes of the Jarrett European Quartet, Jan Garbarek’s solo work, and the Esbjorn Svensson Trio (better known as EST).
“We can also promise a great sound for this gig, as we are delighted to welcome into the FJC fold sound engineer Colin Ashley. Colin’s expertise will make a huge difference to audience and musicians alike.
“Thanks to Martin at the Cornerhouse for the new home, and to everyone who comes to the club for keeping it live and keeping it real. Doors 7pm on Sunday June 11th – entry free as always. See you there we hope.”
