A winner and two runners-up have been chosen from hundreds of entries to the mayor’s Christmas card competition.
The winner was Frida from St John’s First School, with Eliana and Lillian from Oakfield Academy in second and third place. All entries are now on display on the noticeboards at the town hall and the three finalists will each receive a book token from the mayor.
Mayor Cllr Andy Jones and mayor’s consort Anne were this year’s judges. Andy said, “Anne and I really enjoyed judging the Christmas card competition, although it certainly wasn’t an easy task.
“There were hundreds and hundreds of designs and so much work and creativity had gone into them all. Congratulations to Frida, Eliana and Lillian for creating designs that stood out, even among so much talent! I look forward to meeting them when they come in to collect their prizes.”
Frida’s winning design will be used for the town council’s 2024 Christmas card and she will also turn on this year’s Christmas lights on Friday 22nd November. All entries to the 2024 competition are on display at Frome Town Hall until Christmas Eve.
