GOODWILLS, who have been assisting local people with wills and related services for many years, has extended an innovative charity scheme which encourages people to learn more about the importance of lasting powers of attorney.
For every person that goes on to use their service, Goodwills will make a ‘substantial’ donation to the Frome-based cancer counselling service We Hear You. The scheme was first announced in the Frome Times in the busy weeks leading up to Christmas.
Goodwills is a specialist legal services practice that offers a helpful and professional home visit service that assists people with wills, trusts, lasting powers of attorney and related legal services.
Michael Rhodes, senior consultant with Goodwills said, “After a successful launch, we have extended the scheme into 2023 as we continue to spread the word about the importance of lasting powers of attorney. We have launched a free information pack, are promoting our free local helplines and will be offering free consultations to local people.
“We are also using the opportunity to help important local charity, We Hear You, that like us assists people across Somerset, Wiltshire, Bath and the neighbouring areas. The new scheme has already raised over £1,000 for the charity, and we will continue to make a substantial donation to the charity for each person who goes on to use our service.”
Lucy McMahon of We Hear You said, “We provide free, specialist counselling and emotional support for children and adults affected or bereaved by cancer or a life-threatening condition. The support from Goodwills will help us to provide more support to more people in need.”
Michael added, “I am sure local people will be pleased to know they are helping such an important local charity whilst also gaining the peace of mind and protection that a lasting power of attorney provides.
“Those who would like to know more about lasting powers of attorney can contact us for a free information pack, to ask any questions and to find out how they can help a great local charity whilst still benefitting from Goodwills’ usual low prices and personal service.”
