The Frome Lions recently visited Frome Town United FC (FTUFC) to witness the impact of their £1,800 donation, which funded a new set of movable football goals for the club’s pitches.
During their visit last month, FTUFC chairman Lee Seviour expressed his gratitude to the Lions for their generous contribution. “These new goals can be moved as needed, making training and games much easier,” said Lee. He highlighted that the club is run entirely by volunteers, with many qualified coaches, assistants, and parents dedicating time to support the over 600 boys and girls who regularly play and train with the club.
Lee also shared the club’s future plans for enhancing their facilities, including creating new pitches and improving pitch drainage, which would allow for more matches to take place, even in challenging weather.
Frome Lions president Dan Norris thanked Lee and FTUFC’s secretary, John Rawlins. He said that the Lions were only too pleased to help and how good it was to see so many young people getting outside and enjoying the many benefits of playing a team sport together.
