FROME Lions have presented a cheque for £2,000 to local charity, Time is Precious which was raised from the club’s annual sponsored swim in March.
More than 20 teams took part in the swim and £4,000 was raised in total. A presentation night was held recently and trophies were presented for a number of achievements.
Also that evening, 75% of the total raised was handed back to the participating teams to distribute amongst their own chosen charities.
The annual swim has now been running for over thirty years and has raised in excess of £216,000, which has been distributed to local good causes.
