FROME musician, Sara Vian, is preparing for the trip of a lifetime to the east coast of America on Thursday 21st September, to promote her music with The Beautiful Soul Tour, named after the title track of her debut album.
Her former debut EP, which earned the title of ‘fastest -selling indie artist’ at Raves from the Grave, and debut album are released on Soaring Magpie Records and produced by Brooklyn-born local producer, Will Angeloro.
Accompanying Sara on the trip is Patrick Moss, Director of local business, Moss Naylor Young (town and transport planners), who will be speaking at the World Canals Conference in Syracuse, NY about ‘floating communities and flourishing heritage’; Patrick also set up Soaring Magpie Records and hosts Magpie’s Folk Café on Frome FM.
“I’ve been described as ‘vintage blues-folk’ because of my American counter-culture influences so really look forward to exploring America’s heritage and music scene, paying particular homage to Bethel, which hosted the legendary Woodstock festival almost 50 years ago and Caffé Lena in New York, which has been offering ‘good folk since 1960’ and helped to launch many famous names including Bob Dylan,” said Sara.
“We also plan to visit the JBJ Soul Kitchen in New Jersey, set up by Jon Bon Jovi to offer ‘community dining with dignity’, which is particularly resonant with me as I host the pop up Goodwill Café locally; a hub for cultivating goodwill and creative solutions amongst the community.”
