
KELLY Lewis from PAC recently accepted a cheque from Neil Taylor and Jim Plunkett-Cole for the 10kx365 challenge.
The team, who ran at least 10K every day throughout 2013, raising sponsorship for good causes: Positive Action on Cancer, Cystic Fibrosis Trust and Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance. Alf (Jim’s dog) raised funds for Happy Landings.
Jim said, “2013 was the best year of my life, I’ve been so surprised by the public reaction. I never thought I would inspire anyone and I’ve been told that I have.”
Neil said, “It was a pleasure, never a chore. I really didn’t do any of the hard work, that was all done by Jim and Fran. I just ran round a bit.”
Kelly Lewis from PAC said, “Thank you team 10kx365, you all worked tirelessly to complete the challenge and fundraise at the same time. It was a huge personal challenge, and as demanding as any PAC has ever seen.”
Jim is currently inspiring other people to do daily walking or running challenges, he is offering his advice and support for people wanting to do 1k -10k a day for a year. For more information search for 2014kx365 on Facebook.
PAC is currently the only organisation to offer one to one professional counselling to any adults or children affected or bereaved by cancer and other life threatening illnesses in BANES, Somerset and West Wilts.
