FROME Rugby Football Club Under 13s have presented a cheque for £1,038 to the local charity, Time is Precious, which they raised by running the Frome 5K race in July.
Press officer for Frome RFC, Matt Warnock said, “They wanted to keep up their fitness, train for the new season, do something which was a challenge, and do something for the community.
“As a team they wanted to raise money and they chose the local charity, Time is Precious. In total, they have raised £1038.75 and they have now presented a cheque to the charity.”
Frome charity Time is Precious was set up in memory of Ben Halford, who died from a brain tumour in 2010, by his parents Neil and Nicky Halford. The charity works to help improve the facilities and environment for children and their families whilst in hospital.
Frome RFC Under 13s will be going on tour to Exeter in December and will be hosting a quiz at the rugby club to raise money to support their trip. The quiz takes place on Friday 13th October and costs £10 for a team of four. Contact Frome RFC for more information and to book a table.
