Frome Rotary Club has celebrated its 90th charter birthday in style.
The club had inhouse entertainment by ‘The Charters’ with Rotary members Ward Jones, Wayne Kelly, Humphrey Barnes and Andrew Lee, who gave a very humorous performance written by Rotarian Alan Sandall about the origins and work of the club from when it was set up in 1926 to date.
District Governor Rotarian Bob Acland was suitably impressed and produced a framed certificate for the President of Frome Rotary club Patrick Cusworth to commemorate the evening.
The Bayeux Rotary club in France has long been associated with the Frome branch and had braved the storms in the channel (not connected to EU negotiations with the UK) to help Frome Rotary Club celebrate this important birthday in their history as one of the oldest clubs in the UK.
