FUNDRAISING by the Rotary Club of Frome has topped the £10,000 mark over the last year.
The money has been donated to two local charities – Critchill Special Needs School and Harry’s Hydro, which were the chosen charities of Rotary President Humphrey Barnes for his year in office.
The £10,000 target was reached following a very successful concert, ‘For One Night Only’ in the Frome Memorial Theatre which performed to a full house on Saturday 23rd February.
Humphrey presented Critchill School and Harry’s Hydro with two cheques totalling £3,346.42 which followed on from a £6,653.58 presented in July last year which were the proceeds of the first Frome Half Marathon.
Some of the children who took part in the For One Night Only concert were persuaded to have their photograph taken with Humphrey and his wife Gill (who directed the concert) along with Phil Healey (music teacher at Critchill School) and some of the trustees from the Harry Hydro charity including Paula Fox (mother of Harry), Helen Woodhead, Peter Bennett and Tony Perry.
