THE Frome Shed is hosting an open evening for anyone that fancies getting busy in the evening in their community workshop.
In February the Frome Men’s Shed, a charitable organisation that includes the Frome Women’s Shed, plans to begin ‘Evening Shed’ sessions, where anyone over 18 can come along to the workshops to make, mend and mingle.
The workshops are well equipped for woodwork, furniture repairs and upcycling, with hand tools and a machine room.
A spokesperson for Frome Shed says, “Our space is also used for a wide variety of hand crafts such as macramé, machine sewing, banner making, knitting, painting, lino cutting – whatever the members want to do.
“If you fancy getting busy and creative in the evenings, or want to try new skills and interests, come along to the free open evening on Tuesday 8th February at 7 pm, have a look round, have a cuppa and tell us what you would like to do.
“This is a great opportunity for more men and women of Frome to get together to learn skills from each other, and be part of a friendly and supportive group.”
The Frome Shed is located on the ground floor of Welshmill, Park Hill Drive, Frome. If you want to know more, visit the group’s website: www.fromeshed. org.uk, or the Facebook page ‘Frome Women’s Shed’, or message 07500 061624.
The group adds, “It’s warm and ventilated, but at the moment we ask you to wear a face covering.”
