Rain threatened play at Fromefield this week as Frome hosted bottom-of-the-league North Petherton.
After losing the toss, the showmen were put into bat, Lett (82) was the star of the innings and guided Frome towards a competitive score. Lett was supported by R Croker (17) and Watts (17) along with a quick-fire spell from Dredge (27no), leaving the showmen on 173 at the interval.
R Croker (5-22) had another successful week as he destroyed North Petherton’s top order batsmen. The showmen’s bowling display was complemented by Barton (2-21), M Sanger (1-5), Watts (1-6) and Dredge (1-9), leaving North Petherton on a dismal 68. Frome gain 19 points from the match and remain top of the league. The showmen travel away to league rivals Bridgwater next Saturday (22nd June, 12.30pm).
