Frome Stars vs Lawn
County Playoffs – 26th April
Frome are through to the Regional play-offs after defeating Lawn, league winners of the other Wiltshire league.
Held in Swindon, we arrived early, settling ourselves courtside and got straight down to business. Our starting seven came out all guns blazing, gave their all and were taking no prisoners.
Outstanding shooting from GA Liv and GS Nat and, with so much pressure, they came out and delivered. Incredible mid court, from WA Laura, supported in the last quarter by Ella and C Han, delivering balls into the shooting circle with patience and speed, not to mention incredible defence back down the court. And finally WD Gi, GD Freya and GK Lucy working like an unstoppable unit to delay, confuse and regain possession.
With a final score of 45 – 27 Frome will go on to their next and final challenge in a bid to become a Regional 3 team.
Huge huge thanks to our subs, supporters on the sidelines, umpires and officials. And a special thanks to June who travelled to watch us play. June started Frome Netball Club when she was 16, in 1950 and we were honoured to do her proud!
