A MEMBER of the Frome Times delivery team recently completed a 13-mile trek for Parkinson’s UK, walking 31,300 steps from Peasdown and along Colliers Way, raising £850 for the charity.

Newspaper deliverer, Chris Hill, who has Parkinson’s disease, has distributed the Frome Times for many years to residents in the town. Chris said, “I would like to thank everyone who supported me. It was very pleasant, I did struggle towards the last three miles but other than that, it went well!”
A member of Frome’s walking group Chris said, “I am active and like to walk regularly anyway and I deliver the paper, so I don’t mind walking. There were lots of people about which helped [the miles go by].”
To provide support for those with Parkinson’s disease, there is a regular coffee morning on the second Friday of every month at Frome Town Hall, starting at 10am, for those with Parkinson’s and their partners. For more information about this, ring Pat on 01373 467613.
To continue donating money to support Chris’s fundraising efforts, ring Pat for further information.
