A local woman has raised vital funds for the Wessex MS Therapy Centre after hosting an annual bake sale in aid of the charity which has supported her.
Katherine Marsh, who lives with multiple sclerosis (MS), raised £1,226.60 in her annual ‘Katherine’s Cake Bake’ event for the charity in Warminster, where she receives ongoing support and therapy.
The event was held at Katherine’s home in Frome, which she opened up for a day welcoming members of the community.
Fundraising and events coordinator for the Wessex MS Therapy Centre Amanda Strong said, “She baked the delicious goods on offer, welcoming friends, family and neighbours to enjoy a treat while raising money for MS charities, along with her friend Diana, who helped.
“This year’s event was a resounding success, with every slice and cup of tea contributing to a cause close to Katherine’s heart. The proceeds from the cake bake have been donated to The Wessex MS Therapy Centre, helping us continue to provide vital therapies, support and care for people living with multiple sclerosis in the region.”
Chief executive officer for the centre, Rosie said, “We are so grateful to Katherine for her continued support. Her cake bake is not just a fundraiser; it’s a wonderful example of community spirit and personal dedication. Every pound she’s raised helps us to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those affected by MS and other neurological conditions.
“Katherine’s passion and commitment are a true inspiration and we are honoured to count her as part of our community.”
