A FROME youngster has raised over £700 by cycling 50 miles in April to support Ukrainians affected by war.
11-year old Esmee-Rose Hansell was inspired to create her cycling challenge after reading about the war in her weekly junior magazine. She said, “I think it is so unfair that Ukraine is having to go through this when they did nothing wrong.”
So far, Esmee-Rose has raised a total of £712, which her mother Eloise says she is really proud of and happy about. She was also supported on her challenge by her dad Ben, who is a keen cyclist.
“We are so proud of our daughter,” said Esmee-Rose’s parents. “She’s quite pleased now that she can have a little break from cycling, but she has enjoyed the challenge. Pronto (a bike shop in Frome) were so kind to give her cycling gear to go out in and look the part!”
There’s still time to donate and support Esmee-Rose; for more details, visit: www.justgiving.com/fundraising/esmees50milechallenge
