Young athletes from Frome are celebrating success across a range of sports after achieving impressive results at national and international level.
Jas Wilde, 18, of Frome Canoe Club, represented Great Britain at the Junior World Championships in Krakow, Poland, where she narrowly missed out on a place in the women’s canoe final to finish 16th in the world.
Thomas Stubbington, 11, a member of Frome Town Archers, was crowned Under-14 Barebow National Boys Champion at the Junior National Outdoor Championships held at Lilleshall, near Telford, on 5th July.
Kai Santano, 15, won a silver medal at a national pickleball championship in Stourbridge last month alongside doubles partner Seb Oprea, just four months after returning to the sport following surgery for a double break to his left arm and a partial wrist dislocation sustained in a skateboarding accident.
Meanwhile, 19-year-old Hugo Jones was named Somerset ASA Swimmer of the Year after an outstanding season that included silver and bronze medals at the Swedish National Championships in Borås and a string of club records while representing Team Bath AS and Swedish club Södertörns Simsällskap.
