IT’S full steam ahead for this year’s Frome Show, which is promising a jam-packed schedule of entertainment, displays and family fun.
Chairman of Frome Show, Paul Cary, said, “I write as Frome Show chairman to happily say Frome Show preparation is full steam ahead to be ready for Saturday September 11th.
“All the competition classes are open for entries now, so if you have livestock, home produce and handicraft, eggs, fodder and grain, which you think is prize worthy. then get your entries in! Application forms are available from the Show Office, at the end of the Cricket Pavilion.
“There is a vast array of entertainment for the day: extreme bike battle, heavy horses, mounted games, the Shetland Performance Display Team, Mere Falconry, Mighty Mr Smith – Strong Man, The Strolling Gardeners, and a beagles and hounds display.
“On the music stage we have Jackdaws Choir, Frome Town Band, and children’s presenter, Andy Day with two appearances.
“The usual funfair and inflatables will be there too.
“Garston Veterinary Group will be hosting a dog show. Also with Hoopers, Scentwork & Rally Demonstrations.
“In the agricultural field there’s the Hogg Show and big machinery demos.
“Down by the lake there are many free of charge, have a go, activities. Including casting lessons, circus skills, ‘clayzer’ shooting, Frome Archery Club, climb the wall or have a go at axe throwing!”

“There will be more space between each trade stand, extra hand sanitizing stations will be placed around the Showground and it is advisory to wear facemasks in the Cheese Pavilion and marquees.
“In addition, the Cheese Pavilion and marquees will be disinfected by Electrolux Sterilising Water throughout the day to achieve the highest levels of sanitation which will help in reducing the risk of spreading Coronavirus, or other viruses and bacteria.”
