FROME Lions Club still have a couple of places available in their 2023 Charity Golf Day which is being held at The Mendip Golf Club, Gurney Slade on Friday 26th May.
Lion, Michael Geake said, “How would you like to have an enjoyable round of golf and at the same time support an extremely worthwhile charity? This year’s chosen charity for the event is Somerset Sight, who have been working with visually impaired people across Somerset for over 100 years. They provide immediate help and support to enable visually impaired people to adapt to their sight loss and lead more independent lives.”
The format for the event is: 18-hole Stableford competition played off full handicap; Two-tee start, with tee times between 8am 10am; various fun competitions at different holes on the way round including: longest drive, straightest drive, nearest the pin on two par 3s, nearest the pin with the second shot, beat the pro, two-spot, team competitions for teams of four players.
Michael said, “Team entry fee is £200 which includes a bacon roll and coffee on arrival and buffet lunch after completion of your round. (You may deduct £15 for each member of Mendip Golf Club in your team). There will also be a charity raffle and silent auction.”
