Following the very successful ‘re-launch’ of the Frome Cheese & Grain farmers’ market in October, courtesy of their new sponsors, Thatcher + Hallam, organisers are eagerly anticipating the next market on Saturday 11th November 9am-1pm.
“Back to full strength with nearly 30 stalls there is literally something for all tastes, purses, family members and interests!
“We continue to have lots of surprises in store and this month have organised a talk from one of our new producers Lee from Teeny Greeny farm based in Trowbridge who will at 11am (upstairs in the fully accessible community education room) be explaining the ethos and challenges of setting up a an urban micro farm producing nutrient rich micro salads and vegetables!
“New additions to November’s market include a West Woodland-based free range egg enterprise, a Norton St Philip patisserie and if you are a reluctant car owner we may have a greener alternative for you. The Frome Electric Car Club is coming along to publicise this worthwhile and good value alternative to car ownership and with the vehicles situated outside of the Cheese & Grain, it’s a good opportunity to find out what is involved.
“The farmers’ market based at the Cheese & Grain has been established for nearly 20 years, and sticks closely to its original ethos ensuring that our local farmers and food producers can reach a local customer base in a welcoming and friendly venue with live music, cash machine, cooking advice and it’s also very child-friendly with tasting encouraged!
