Frome Children’s Festival and Fair Frome are once again partnering up for the Easter Holidays to bring fun-packed family activities followed by a delicious hot lunch and dessert in three locations across the town.
This Thursday, 11th April, the festival will be at Trinity Hall with a Green Fingers session. Children will be able to have fun with soil, seeds and plants, for all hands whatever their size.
Messy Sensory Play for everyone, but particularly great for children with additional sensory needs, will be on Friday 12th at the Football Club. Monday 15th the festival is back at the Key Centre for a Fimo modelling session suitable for age 5 plus (limited places so booking essential on lenkagrimes@gmail.com); playdough and toys suitable for younger ones will be available.
Thursday 18th April children can get creative with some mask making at Trinity Hall.
All sessions are 10am-12noon drop in except where stated, with a £1 donation per child, followed by lunch at 12pm and inclusive and accessible to everyone. A support worker will be available to assist where required.
On the Tuesdays the Toy Library at Portway Church hall will be open 9.30am-3pm with the chance to play with and borrow from the large range of toys, books and games, and enjoy songs, crafts and story time too.
Fair Frome will be offering hot nutritious lunches and dessert for all families with a vegetarian option available; for other dietary requirements please contact the group beforehand on lenkafairfrome@gmail.com. Lunches are free to families eligible for free school meals or on benefits of any kind and a suggested £2 donation per person for others.
Lenka Grimes, Coordinator at the charity Fair Frome said “We are continuing our Holiday Hunger project that was started last summer as we know there is a huge need with children not having a hot meal during the holiday period that they are normally guaranteed at school and many children are now having breakfast at school too”.
The Children’s Festival activities have been funded by the Santander Foundation, Lettings–r-us, Live West and Somerset County Council Disabilities team. Fair Frome has received sponsorship from Bistro Lotte for the lunches.
