The newly-appointed principal of Frome College, Emma Reynolds, will take over the role from September.
She takes over from Gavin Ball, who has been at Frome College for five years. He will take up the appointment of executive head at the Wessex Learning Trust, based in Cheddar.
Graham Lock, chair of governors, said in a letter to parents and carers, “Emma’s credentials are certainly strong: she is currently headteacher at The Bulmershe School in Reading. Emma has been at Bulmershe, her first headship, for over four years, and in that time has led the school from strength to strength. It is now the school of choice for that area.
“Emma attended the University of Lancaster studying English and history, followed by Reading University where she gained her PGCE. She taught for some years in South America and Spain while raising her two daughters.
“As a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, Emma is passionate about creative education and holds a national professional qualification for headship. She has 13 years’ experience on leadership teams, and her personality is well-matched to the ethos of Frome College, with a focus on the student-centred view of the educational process, and a firm belief in high standards for staff development.
“We all look forward to welcoming Emma in September.”
Emma said, “Frome College has fantastic potential and a brilliant base from which to grow. I am wholly committed to my future at the college, to its development and ongoing success.”
