STAFF at the Frome branch of Argos have been on an eight-mile walk, raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support.
The eight-mile charity walk started at the Argos store before taking the nine staff members on a circuit of the outskirts of town, before returning to the store, taking roughly three hours to complete.
Frome store charity champion Xanthe Anderson said, “The day went really well! Time actually goes quite quickly when you’re walking round, just concentrate on putting one foot in front of the other.
“We really started to feel it around mile six, but nothing was stopping us from finishing.
“So far, we have £99 on our Just Giving page and we have also collected some money in store.
“I’m estimating we’ll collect at least a couple hundred pounds.
‘Thank you so very much to those people who have sponsored and donated already, and an even bigger thank you to the staff who took part, I couldn’t have done it without them. I really appreciate them walking with me in this event.
“Macmillan is a massively important charity. Cancer is something that directly or indirectly affects half the population and they are there to support patients, family, friends and carers on everything from physical and mental health, to financial worries.”
Donations can still be made to the team’s Just Giving page until Sunday 23rd July: www.justgiving.com/fromemightyhike
You can also send a text donation to 70070 using the message FROM85 followed by the amount you would like to give (£?).
